IGCSE Tutor in Mumbai for Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
One-to-one IGCSE mentoring at your home across Mumbai's western suburbs, from Bandra to Dahisar. Fifteen years of helping Grade 9 and 10 students turn understanding into A*s.
Your first session is free: a real lesson, an assessment, and a short written plan for what to work on first.
Hard-working students who aren't getting the grades their effort deserves
Most IGCSE students who come to me aren't failing. They're working hard and still sitting on Bs and Cs, or they do well in school tests and then lose marks in the Cambridge exam. The gap is almost always the same: they know the content, but not the way Cambridge asks about it.
IGCSE papers reward precise wording, complete working and a clear reading of command words like describe, explain and suggest. A student who genuinely understands a topic can still drop easy marks by answering the wrong command word or skipping a unit. That is fixable, and it is fixed fastest one-to-one, where every session starts from what this particular student gets wrong.
I've spent more than fifteen years doing exactly this with Grade 9 and 10 students across Mumbai. Sessions take place at your home, at your child's pace, with no batch to keep up with and no one else's questions taking the time.
Cambridge IGCSE Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Grades 9 and 10, Core and Extended. Every subject is taught to the current Cambridge syllabus and practised on real exam-style questions.
IGCSE Maths tutor
Number, algebra, functions and graphs, geometry, trigonometry, vectors, probability and statistics, for both calculator and non-calculator papers. The focus is on method marks: showing working the way the mark scheme rewards it.
IGCSE Physics tutor
Motion and forces, energy, thermal physics, waves and light, electricity and magnetism, nuclear and space physics. Includes dedicated preparation for Paper 6, Alternative to Practical, where many students lose marks they could easily keep.
IGCSE Chemistry tutor
Atomic structure and bonding, moles and stoichiometry, electrochemistry, energetics, rates and equilibrium, acids and salts, metals and organic chemistry, plus the practical skills tested in Paper 6.
IGCSE Biology tutor
Cells, transport, nutrition, respiration, coordination, reproduction, inheritance and ecology. Biology is marked on precise vocabulary, so definitions and the exact phrasing examiners expect are built in from the start.
From the first message to the final exam
A short WhatsApp conversation
Tell me the grade, subjects and what's worrying you. No obligation.
A free first session
A real lesson at home that doubles as an assessment. Your child sees how I teach; you get a short written note on strengths, gaps and what to fix first.
A personalised learning plan
Built around the board, the exam date and the specific gaps, not a template. You'll know what's being worked on and why.
Weekly one-to-one sessions at home
Most students have one two-hour session a week. Concepts first, then exam-style questions, then the mark scheme, so understanding turns into marks.
Numbers, not adjectives
Most recent: in the February–March 2026 series, a current student achieved A* in IGCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
What families say
"Riyaz Shaikh is an excellent teacher. I highly recommend him for IGCSE."
Mansi, Parent
"What impressed us most was that Riyaz Sir understood how she learns before focusing on the syllabus. Within months she became capable of studying independently and answering tricky questions confidently."
Anjali, Parent
"The greatest turnaround wasn't just the improvement in marks, but witnessing her become a confident student."
Pinky, Mother of Niyati

Start before you even message me
Three tools I built for my own IGCSE students, now open to everyone. They're also what we use between sessions.
IGCSE chapter notes
Clear notes with diagrams for every chapter of Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, plus night-before summary sheets. Free PDF downloads.
Open the notes →Practice paper generator
Build an exam-style paper on exactly the topics you need, including Paper 6 Alternative to Practical, with a full mark scheme.
Build a paper →The Lab
Interactive simulations of circuits, lenses, projectile motion, waves and more, to see a concept work before writing about it.

Which IGCSE board do you teach?
Cambridge IGCSE (CAIE): Mathematics 0580, Physics 0625, Chemistry 0620 and Biology 0610, at both Core and Extended level, for Grades 9 and 10.
Do you come to our home?
Yes. In-person sessions are held at the student's home across Mumbai's western suburbs, from Bandra to Dahisar. Families elsewhere can choose online sessions in the same format.
How often are sessions, and how long?
Most students have one two-hour session a week. The exact plan is agreed after the first assessment, based on the student's level, subjects and exam date.
Are sessions one-to-one or in a group?
Always one-to-one. Every session is planned around one student's gaps, pace and exam timeline.
When is the best time to start?
The start of Grade 9 is ideal, because the two-year IGCSE course can then be built properly from the ground up. Students also join in Grade 10, when the plan focuses on closing gaps and exam practice.
Is the first session really free?
Yes. The first session is a real lesson that also works as an assessment, and afterwards you get a short written note on strengths, gaps and what to work on first. There is no obligation to continue.
What are the fees?
Fees depend on the grade, number of subjects and format, and are discussed after the free first session, once we both know what the student needs.
Fifteen minutes is usually enough to know if this is the right fit.
Start with a short message with the grade, board and subject. The first session is free: a real lesson, an assessment and a short written plan, with no obligation.
